Universal Business Team
Background
Universal Business Team or UBT are a business consultancy who provide customers with a wide range of services including coaching and training.
Since they were established in 2009 they’ve supported 3,000 businesses across 19 countries.
Challenges Faced
The company had a large fleet of 140 vehicles with grey fleet of around 40. They wanted to reduce corporate risk and insurance claims.
Requirement
UBT had several measures in place to manage driver safety, however, they weren’t sure whether they were robust enough. After an initial discussion, Adrian delivered a presentation on what good driver risk management looks like, to help UBT understand their duty of care obligations and benchmark themselves against best practice. Their desire was to adhere to health and safety legislation, improve fleet safety, reduce risk and ultimately reduce the amount of insurance claims made.
How We Helped
Adrian reviewed UBT’s existing arrangements for managing driver safety which resulted in him introducing a more robust driver risk management programme, this consisted of a risk assessment, a new driver safety policy, a driver handbook and so that the company had a lens on everyone who drives on business, the introduction of an authorisation to drive application process. This programme now sees UBT as adhering to best practice, meeting their legal duty of care obligations but more importantly, doing the right thing as a responsible employer, making driver safety part of their everyday health and safety arrangements.
Operations and Facilities Country Manager Dan Haughton with UBT said:
“Adrian’s presentation was really clear and demonstrated the risks associated with driving for work purposes which helped us improve fleet safety. The team here were able to learn a lot and the information gained will definitely help us in the future. Adrian is an expert in his field, is extremely knowledgeable and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him. The online training courses he has to offer are excellent as well.”
