Driver Risk Management Programme

Do you want to protect your business and your staff in relation to their driving activities?

Would you like the peace of mind knowing your have driver safety properly covered?

Do you want and expert to take the paid out of introducing a robust driver safety programme?

Our consultancy-led approach might just be what you are looking for!

The Health & Safety Executive provides an excellent set of guidelines outlining what organisations should have in place to manage driver safety. However, these guidelines lack detail on what should be included and, more importantly, the ‘how’. You likely won’t have the time, staff resources, or expertise to plan and implement a comprehensive driver safety programme, nor will you have ready-made policies, templates, and other essential components needed for effective driver risk management.

Adrian can alleviate this burden by crafting a bespoke driver safety programme tailored to your business. He’ll handle all the groundwork, from creating your risk assessment and driver safety policy to developing the necessary documents and procedures. He’ll also collaborate with a designated ‘Champion’ within your organisation, ensuring you become competent and self-sufficient in maintaining a robust driver safety regime once the programme is in place.

Rest assured on two counts; this approach is cost-effective, with expenses spread over an initial 36-month contract via a per-person, per-month subscription plan that also includes driver training for your staff. Additionally, throughout this period, Adrian will serve as your ‘virtual’ driver risk manager, always available by phone or email to offer support and advice when needed.

What is included in the subscription plan?

  • Creation of a risk assessment of the businesses driving activities.
  • Creation of a driver safety policy bespoke to the operational preferences of the business.
  • Provision of a driver safety handbook (digital copy).
  • Introduction of an Authorisation to drive process.
  • Assistance with the introduction of your driver risk management programme (typically takes 2 to 6 weeks to deploy) to include email-based communication templates, used to introduce staff to the programme.
  • Access to any or all the following online training courses:
    • Induction for new starters (introduces new employees to your driver safety arrangements)
    • Eco-safe driving – for drivers of cars.
    • Safer van driving – for drivers of vans.
    • Electric vehicles – for those new to driving electric cars and vans.
    • Director & Manager responsibilities (webinar)
    • Annual refresher course.
  • Quarterly check-ins, just to make sure your driver risk management programme is running smoothly.
  • Post-collision interview/report (via telephone or Zoom with the employee involved)
  • Annual review of your Risk Assessment and Driver Safety Policy.
  • Optional periodic road safety newsletter, this can be sent to staff individually or as a single communication to a named person within the business.
  • Director & manager briefing (explanation of what the business will have in place to manage driver safety) delivered via a Zoom or Teams webinar.

In addition to the above, ongoing support, subject to fair usage, is provided throughout the term of the contract period. This includes telephone, email or video-based consultations on matters relating to the ongoing management of driver safety and compliance. Think of Adrian as your ‘virtual’ driver risk manager.
