They specialise in renovating, extending and building dream homes for homeowners who want to optimise layouts, reconfigure spaces or weave personality into their homes and gardens. Their architects capture clients wishes in the design and their team of expert tradespeople beautifully bring them all to life.

Challenges Faced

With a dynamic and growing workforce there was a realisation that the driving element of people’s job was probably the most dangerous part, so there was a desire to put measures in place to keep their people as safe as possible, and, to meet any duty of care obligations.

Requirement

Because the business is thriving and with a strong desire to focus on what they do best, Powell Design & Construction needed to bring in an industry expert to create a robust driver risk programme for them, one that put people first, protected the business and its reputation and, would also meet any obligations within health and safety legislation.

How We Helped

Following a discovery meeting, we crafted a proposal that would see us helping to plan and implement a driver risk management programme tailored to Powell Design & Construction’s operational preferences, this consisted of a risk assessment, a driver safety policy, an authorised driver’s application process and guidance on the effective governance around driving for work as an ongoing theme. The programme was introduced to staff via an interactive workshop where a range of safe driving topics were covered.
