Driver risk management for small businesses

Do you own or run a business with more than five employees?

Do any of your staff drive as part of their work?

Would you like to ensure your staff are safe while driving on behalf of your business?

Would you like to ensure you comply with your Duty of Care obligations under Health & Safety legislation?

Don’t know where to start or what to do?

Did you know? The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) produces guidelines for managing work-related road safety. If you are under investigation, following a work-related driving incident, you will be benchmarked against these guidelines. If you are found guilty of failing to meet your legal duty of care obligations, your business may be fined a substantial sum based on a % of your turnover. Click HERE for an example.

If you would like to ensure you meet the HSE guidelines, my Driver Risk Management Toolkit could be just what you are looking for!

Toolkit options – a kind of DIY approach

Essential contains everything you will need to address your duty of care requirements. I provide you with a comprehensive reference guide on how to use the Toolkit along with templates and resources; you simply edit a couple of documents to suit your business needs and operational preferences. It’s a kind of DIY option, but with full instructions on what, when and how to do things. This makes the cost affordable to even the smallest of businesses.

Essential+ comes with all the features of Essential, but with the added advantage of support. If you get stuck on anything, just call me and I’ll help you sort things out.

Managed service

Are you busy doing what you do best and just want me to get things done for you, if so, my Platinum service might just be what you are looking for?

Platinum is ideal if you would prefer a more hands-on approach by me, freeing you up to work on your business. I do all of the planning, implementation and setup of your driver risk management programme and train someone in your business to take care of the day to day tasks. I’m on hand to provide additional support and I’ll review your key documents annually, all the while you have a contract in place.

Which Toolkit is best for me?

The Toolkit you choose will largely be dictated by your budget versus your time. The outcomes are the same for both Toolkit options, it’s just the route by which we get you there is different.

Platinum is my flagship service for businesses where internal resources or expertise are not available. You get everything that’s included in the Essential+ Toolkit, but the main difference here is that I will carry out the planning, document editing, and project manage the implementation of your driver risk management programme for you.

I will also train designated members of your staff on what they need to do to keep their records and management processes up to date.

Once the programme is up and running smoothly, I’ll show you what you need to do to maintain a healthy driver risk management regime and support you throughout the year as and when you need it, becoming your ‘virtual’ driver risk manager.

As we approach the end of each contract year, I’ll review your programme and using lessons learned, update your Risk Assessment and Driver Safety Policy.

As this is a 36-month initial contract, each year you will benefit from:

  • Consultancy support (remember, I’m your virtual driver risk manager)
  • Three virtual catch-up meetings, just to check things are ok
  • Annual review of your programme and associated documents
  • Access to the online Toolkit and resource library
